Estimator – Building Automation System (BAS)

Role Description:

We’re hiring a full-time, in-office Building Automation System (BAS) Estimator based in Edmonton, AB. This is an opportunity for someone who’s not just looking for a job, but a place to grow and thrive with a strong team environment.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 40 – 44 hours per week
  • 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (Flexible)
  • Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and proposals for building automation and control system projects
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and tender documents
  • Perform take-offs for controls, low-voltage systems, and related electrical components
  • Coordinate with estimating manager, branch & project managers, technicians, suppliers, and subcontractors to develop project pricing
  • Source and price materials, equipment, and labor requirements
  • Assist with budgeting, project planning, and value engineering opportunities
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors, contractors, and customers
  • Ensure estimates align with project scope, customer requirements, and company standards
  • Support handoff meetings between estimating and project execution teams

Qualifications:

  • Experience in building automation systems, HVAC controls, electrical estimating, or related industries
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls, and low-voltage electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Journeyperson Electrician certification or technical background in controls/HVAC is considered an asset
  • Valid driver’s license required

Preferred Assets:

  • Experience with BAS platforms and control systems
  • BAS Estimating experience
  • Knowledge of Alberta Construction Tendering Processes
  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes
